Secrets

Dear Janice Forccelli ,
Hello ! How are you ? I'm fine , but my day has been a little wacky. You see , I slept in a little late (like 5 hours late. Oops.) and when I woke up no one was home ! Which was quite odd considering either my mom or brother are always home. Anyway, I got very lonesome and had nothing to do so I started to brush my hair. I literally brushed my hair for like 2 hours. After my hair was all brushed and soft , I went for a nice long walk outside. I got home around 8pm and my family was finally home. It turns out they were searching for me all over the city ! They did not even think to look in my bed because they thought I was at school ! How silly. I explained to them that I overslept and was just in my bed all day long. They realized how silly they were and apologized to me for overreacting. Everything seemed fine and dandy except there was something going on inside of me. I had a secret. I so desperately wanted to tell my family , but I fear that they would judge me too harshly. So I wish to tell you , Janice. I sincerely hope that is alright because here it is; my secret is ........... I'm in love with my hair brush !! Oh please do not think of me badly , I have done no crime. I am just simply in love , that is all. You , Janice are the first human I have told this to so I wish to hear back from you right away to receive your opinion. Write back soon !
-Affectionately yours ,
Ivy Esser-Whidden.

Week 3

In the beginning of Frankenstein , Mary Shelley begins her novel by writing four letters. These letters were written by Robert Walton to his sister, Margaret Saville. These letters explained his journey , which led to him meeting Victor Frankenstein , whom the novel is written about. If I were writing a ghost story , I do not believe I would start it using letters. I would begin my ghost story by using the usual beginning , "One dark and stormy night." Mainly because most scary or horror type scenarios  begin something dark and or stormy. Except since this is used so much so much , my story will probs be lame. So I do not believe I will ever even write a ghost story so I will therefore not write a beginning to a ghost story.

Gothic Stuff

I believe the supernatural is is the best element in a gothic novel. For example , Frankenstein's monster had supernatural strength and powers. (Super speed and strength) That small detail just made the story so much more interesting I believe. Not only in Frankenstein is that a cool and powerful element , but it is a good tool in any story. Like in vampire stories (ex : Twilight) and in scary stories. I know some people may not agree with me , but I just love reading about things that wouldn't normally happen in every day life.

It Did Not Turn Out Very Well ...

A time I had a responsibility that I could not handle was when I was in charge of protecting the FBI's most dangerous criminals. A few years back I was working at a secret FBI facility that harbors the most gruesome and terrifying convicts. For some reason all of my co-workers decided to use their vacation days at the same time - leaving me as the only guard for a full week. This was a very bad idea because I was only like 12 and I was super wimpy and there would be no way I could control all 543 criminals single-handily. Once word got around that only one guard would be on duty , the men set up an escape plan. The plan was to kill me. So that's what they did , they escaped , killed me , and now they are rampaging the city. One could say I failed at my responsibility.
